A Key Worker project, on former railway land backing onto a rising railway embankment to the east and fronting onto the “Little Scrubs”, an area of public open space adjacent to the ancient woodland of Wormwood Scrubs. The scheme utilises modular construction for the 47 studio and one bed flats and is designed with circulation along the rear (eastern side) which acts as a noise barrier to the flats whilst allowing all units an open aspect over the Little Scrubs to the front of the site. The linear nature of the site dictated a continuous three storey built form, which alternates projecting and recessed metal balcony fronts and stock brick and rendered panels along its length.
